Shawl

This week I made a shawl to bing with me to church because it is very cold during the service.

The shawl is very soft and warm. I am sure it will keep me nice and warm during the services.

I used Homespun yarn in the windsor color. I really like the purple and blue in this yarn and that is why I chose it. This is the first time I have worked with the Homespun so it was a little tricky at first but once I got used to working with it things worked up very quickly.

2013-08-08 20.58.31I worked this pattern in a half double crochet so it was tight enough for warmth but not to tight. It is 40 hdc’s wide and reaches from hand to hand. Please let me know if you would like directions for this shawl.

Did you make anything new this week?

DIY Thursdays

This week I had planned on sharing the finished water bottle holder but we had a bit of an accident. Sedona decided to try to get the lid off my drink and dumped the whole thing right into my crochet bag. The project has been washed and is still drying so I can see if it can be saved. So hopefully next week I will have the picture after all.

As for this week, I didn’t have a lot of time to work on projects but I did get a couple of cute cat toys done. This is the first small sized project I have worked on and it is really difficult. I didn’t realize that using a small hook would be that much different.  So my project was Mouse Cat Toys that I found on Pinterest. I got off to a rough start and had a lot of mouse butts but not a whole mouse. Finally I did get the hang of it and I have two done so far. Luckily Blackie is outside because he loves catnip and I would imagine he would be right here in my lap. The plan is to make a bunch more of these and now that I have the hang of it they should be faster, I hope.

Here is the finished project! What do you think?

DIY Thursday

Happy Thursday!

So I didn’t end up getting my progect done this week with all the other things I have going on. I am almost done with it, all I have left is the strap. As I posted last week I am working on a water bottle holder using the left over yarn from the Market Bag I featured last week.

I am happy with the way that it is turning out and I think it will make a great gift. This pattern was also from Ravelry and for this one I used Bernat Dream Twists yarn with a size I hook.

Crochet Market Bag

Tonight I finished my second market bag. On this one I used a larger hook so that the bag will be a bit larger than the last. It took me about a week to make this one working on it when I had some spare time. I am very happy with the way it came out and love the colors of this one. What do you think?

I got the pattern from Ravelry and for this one used Bernat Dream Twists yarn with a size J hook.

This bag works great at Farmer’s Markets, I have been using the first one I made every week and now I can hold even more!

My next project is a water bottle holder. Hopefully I will have it done to show you for next Thursday.
