40 Bags in 40 Days {Week 4}

40 Bags

This week I didn’t get as much done as I had wanted to because it was finals week for me. Luckily I has some open days in my 40 so I’m good. So with the days I did have time, I worked on the mess I call my office. I found a lot of office supplies I have duplicates of because I couldn’t find the first. Has anyone else done this? Hopefully after this I won’t lose things anymore. So here are the photos, I am happy with the results so far.

So as you can see the desk and my supply cabinet were a disaster. This is why I’m usually on my laptop in the living room instead.

……….and after

And there is even empty space now! Moving the printer up to the shelf really opened the desk up for more working space. The little boxes are great for all the small office supplies.

How is everyone else doing this week? Any major decluttering done in your home?

40 Bags in 40 Days {Week 3}

40 Bags

Week 3 was mostly Harrison’s things and boy does he have a lot. Between his bed room and computer room it took the whole week and we still have more to go. Who knew he had collected so much is 12 years.

How is everyone doing on their projects? Anyone find it getting harder to stay on track?

40 Bags in 40 Days {Week 2}

40 Bags

Week two was a little harder then the first week. I was busy all week so making the time was tricky but I am determined to declutter this house! So I got it done and I feel great about it. This week I have 7 bags collected.

This weeks tasks were:

Day 1-4 Living Room

Day 5 Pet Area

Day 6-7 Hallway and Stairs (mostly cleaning)

Next week is my office and starting the kitchen, there should be a lot to go there! Have a great week everyone!

40 Bags

I made it though week 1! Decluttering the house is proving to be harder then I thought but it is without a doubt needed. I collected 8 large garbage bags full of items to give a way and two bags of trash. Who knew I had this much stuff?!

This weeks tasks were:

Day 1-4: Master bedroom
Day 5: Bathroom
Day 6: Hallway cabinet
Day 7: Cookbook Shelf

Here are some before and after pictures. I didn’t remember to take pictures of all the areas but here are a few.

Are you doing any decluttering this summer? I would love to here your game plan.

40 Bags In 40 Days

Today Harrison and I started the 40 Bags in 40 Days Challenge. Many groups and individuals do this challenge during Lent but I need to get this house decluttered now. So I figure there is no time like the present.

The idea if this challenge is to tackle a part of your house everyday for 40 days and to gather 40 bags in the process. These bags can then be donated, throw out or sold. It is also very possible to have more then 40 bags.

We are taking part in this challenge in the hopes of decluttering our home and our lives. Has anyone else done the challenge?

I will try to post a weekly update on our progress with pictures but for now here is a photo of our plan of action.

This is not my original idea, many groups and individuals have posted this online. I do not take credit for the idea. I personally got the idea and information from Clover Lane.
